PASTOR'S PAGE
By Pastor Dan Gibson Two more new faces, Lorelei and Susan, grace the church council. The sanctuary has never looked so beautiful over the holiday season. Bethel performs "O Holy Night", the best Christmas pageant I’ve ever experienced -- and I have the privilege to sing a duet with Carl Hurty. The carolers expand into two groups this year bringing everything from laughter to Herman to tears to Maria. Bernice has left for Vegas. Valerie is leaving for Atlanta. J.J. resigns as Youth Minister to become his actress-wife's business manager -- but he and Abby want to begin worshiping at Bethel on their "off Sundays." The youth go with pastor on a service project. New people come to Bethel almost every Sunday in December. Giselle returns from Cal Lu with a smile. Christine is taking an entrance exam to join the LA Sheriff's Department. Gidget still calls me Moondoggy. Drake still rocks. Ramona hits a home run. Lu's got no water. Don brings over another batch of his world-famous guacamole. Gavin and Amber get engaged. Liz and De’Rick get engaged. Frank and Emily get married. Imelda turns 90, then goes out with a minor stroke, but bounces back for Christmas. Ed goes to Mexico, comes down with pneumonia, but also bounces back for Christmas. Felicia and Harold give birth to Zora Isabella Bonneau. David is turning 50. Maggie is turning 1. The Gibson's take another crack at a housewarming party. Jamison is a bad guy on ABC. Lauren debuts on Christmas Eve as the youngest Assistant Minister in Bethel history -- and does a fabulous job -- her mom brings me her yummy Swedish meatballs while I attempt to prepare for the service on an empty stomach -- and I receive more Christmas presents from a congregation that I ever thought possible for one pastor. And last but not least, I am the proud new owner of a Gibson ESDTCHNH ES335 DOT REIS HOLLOWBODY W/NH CHY (electric guitar). Step aside Chuck Berry, here come da Big Kahuna.
